Interlibrary Loans (ILL) are items that will be requested from other South African Libraries. CSIRIS handles ILL for CSIR staff members. The CSIR has a reciprocal responsibility to lend books/photocopies of articles to other libraries as well. ILL requests are limited and bound by the lending regulations of the owning or host library.
There are also costs associated with Inter library loans.
An ILL Loan (book) has a fee of R80.00 (plus R8.25 for every additional kg or part thereof) as per the South African Interlending Services Tariffs. Articles will be charged as per table below. This fee is deducted on the project details provided by the requestor on the Workflow request.
